I find it a great privilege to be a part of someone’s journey toward healing and seek to build a bridge from the mercy and love of Jesus Christ into the details of life, providing hope to women in hurting places. I believe God has created people for worship and relationship and therefore I spend time exploring the influence of early life experiences to help clients thrive in their current relationships. Common issues that are addressed from the lens of the Gospel are stress, worry, sadness, family dynamics, parenting, grief/loss, changes in life seasons, and relationship issues. I enjoy leading care groups for women and see the benefit of pursuing healing alongside others.

My training includes a Master’s in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, becoming a Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner, supervision and experience working with women and families in various situations including those walking through adoption and foster care. I have affiliation with the Association of Biblical Counseling and Christian Counseling and Education Foundation, earning the Formation Certificate through CCEF’s School of Biblical Counseling. My husband and I have been married since 2003 and have 2 teenage daughters. We enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending the day at the lake with family and friends.

Pamela Cubas

Counselor

The fact that human beings, regardless of their belief system, are created in the image of God has several implications. The first one is value. Everyone is valuable and has meaning because of who created them. The second implication is purpose. God makes no mistakes; everything and everyone is designed with his purposes in mind. Everyone is created, sinful, in need of redemption. Those facts are the foundation of my counseling. No person, marriage, or family is too far gone and no issue too difficult, painful, or sinful for God’s compassionate, kind, and merciful redemption.

I am originally from Kansas City, MO, but I married into the military, and we have moved nine times since 2002. We currently reside in Colorado Springs at the USAF Academy. I've been married for 22 years, and we have three children (20, 18, and 17). I have an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University (VA). In addition, I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in biblical counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) in Louisville, KY. I teach at Lancaster Bible College (PA) in their MA in Christian Care program, Colorado Christian University in their MA in Professional Counseling program, and I serve as an OTA and Garrett Fellow at SBTS in their Biblical Counseling department.

I have experience counseling individuals and adolescents who have experienced sexual, physical, and emotional abuse; depression; anxiety; gender dysphoria and same-sex attraction. I also have experience in marriage and family counseling.

I have counseled in a variety of settings. Under licensure, I counseled at an inpatient children’s center in Oklahoma City. I work with teens who were sexually abused and sexually abused others. I also worked in outpatient settings with teens and their families. I have provided pro-bono biblical counseling for churches in S. Korea, Oklahoma, and Colorado Springs. I have been a guest speaker at The Christian & Missionary Alliance youth Next conferences teaching on how to counsel youth and how to understand and help teens and families dealing with sexual and gender struggles. I enjoy painting, walking trails, pickleball, and cornhole.

Emily Kleiber

Counselor

I consider it a great privilege to come alongside hurting people in the counseling process. At the foundation of my practice is a warm, empathetic, Gospel-centered approach that seeks to emphasize the magnitude of God's grace in our lives and the freedom it brings.

I currently serve as the Counseling Director at my beloved home church in Minneapolis and have experience working with women, men, and couples. I received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University. My therapeutic approach comes from varied backgrounds including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Pesso Boyden Sensoripsychomotor (PBSP) to support regulating emotion, adapting to change, and healing from unmet needs in childhood. I have a diverse mix of clinical and ministry-related counseling experience including counseling women in the perinatal period at a pregnancy resource center, assessing pastors for readiness in church planting, and leading a series of Marriage & the Gospel classes for couples.

I have been married to my husband for 19 years and we have three amazing children. I absolutely love living in the city and appreciate live music, enjoying the local food scene, exploring on long walks, and cheering on our kids at all of their different sporting events.

Kevin Stratton

Counselor

My counseling approach is holistic, clinically-informed, and gospel-centered. It is a joy to walk with people through life’s hard places. I believe we are all image-bearers with great purpose who are never out of the reach of our God’s loving hands. I specialize in pastoral care, marriage, depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma care.
I am a Certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS-I) with EMDR training. I am a licensed counselor in Missouri and serve as the Counseling Director at a faith-based men’s shelter where I work with men and women who are homeless or formerly incarcerated. I also supervise counseling students from a local university. I am trained in fatherhood development and relationship skills, including communication, conflict management, expectations, emotional safety, commitment safety, and physical safety.
I also really enjoy working with people who are in vocational ministry. I served in vocational ministry for 18 years through youth, music, church planting, eldership, and pastoral care. I know ministry can feel like a lonely place with all kinds of struggles. We need safe, grace-filled places to struggle and heal through our suffering in life. I am licensed and ordained as a pastor and received my Masters in Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO.
I grew up in the Ozarks of Southwest Missouri and felt a call to ministry at the beginning of my second year of college. My wife and I have been married for 12 years, have two children (8 and 4), and enjoy faithfully serving our church in Missouri.

Christie Lacy

Counselor

At the heart of my counseling approach is my desire to care for people that they might live from the Gospel and in the fullness of what Christ has for them. As such, I move from a biblical perspective, incorporating scriptures and prayer in counseling sessions. My training is clinically informed; as physically embodied people, we must be cared for in a manner that attends to both the body and the soul. I am certified through the Association of Biblical Counselors. I provide counseling for individuals (adults and teens), couples (married, engaged, or dating), Conflict Resolution (acting as a mediator in situations that need resolution), abuse, trauma, and recovery process (aiding marriages in the process of recovery and/or abuse).

Apart from being a counselor, I wear several hats – daughter, sister, friend, teacher, mother, and wife. I have been married for 21 years and am a mother to three delightful kids (ages 21, 19, and 16).

Christie is accepting new clients on a case by case basis. To inquire about a session, please email Christie at christie@gospelcarecollective.org

Mel Neufeld

Counselor

My counseling approach is holistically based, clinically informed, and reliant on scripture. Walking the path of healing can be like entering a dark forest without knowing the way through or what you will encounter at the end. It can be scary, but it is not a walk we need to take alone. It is my honor as a biblical counselor to walk this path alongside others in their brokenness and suffering as we go towards Christ and the healing the gospel brings. I have a heart to walk alongside women who have been abused, sexually assaulted, suffer from perinatal and postpartum mental health struggles, infertility, trauma, anxiety, depression, divorce, abortion grief, and pornography addiction.

I am certified through the Association of Biblical Counselors. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba majoring in music, with additional studies in the areas of psychology and biology. I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and have a desire to see biblical counseling become a common part of how the church ministers to God’s people here in Canada. I live in Winnipeg with my two toddlers, husband, and 5 sweet embryos waiting their turns to come home. In my free time when I am not studying for school or counseling, I enjoy playing with my daughters, drinking a good cup of coffee with a friend, reading, and going for walks my wonderful husband.
