What does 'Clinically Informed' mean as it relates to Biblical Counseling?

Clinically informed biblical counseling is an approach to counseling that addresses the whole person – body and soul. We believe that God created us as embodied souls and that he cares about our physcial and spiritual wholeness. Through the Biblical lens we value the common-grace of scientific knowledge enabling us to provide holistic and comprehensive care for individuals facing emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges.

In this counseling model, trained professionals apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions through the framework and interpretive grid of biblical wisdom and principles. Counselors aim to address clients’ physiological (body, mind and soul) needs while considering their spiritual beliefs and values. This approach acknowledges the complexity of human experiences and seeks to provide guidance, support, and healing in a manner that aligns with an individual’s faith and spirituality.

Are you trauma-informed?

Yes! We offer a trauma-informed biblical counseling approach that recognizes the impact of trauma on individuals and incorporates trauma-sensitive principles within a biblical framework. It acknowledges the prevalence and effects of trauma, such as abuse, neglect, or other distressing experiences, on a person’s emotional, relational, and spiritual well-being.

In trauma-informed biblical counseling, counselors are trained to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes healing and avoids retraumatization. They work with clients to develop a deep understanding of the trauma’s impact, helping them process their experiences, address the associated emotional and spiritual wounds, and find hope and restoration through biblical truths.

What is the cost?

Fees for individual counseling range from $80-$150 per hour. Most of our counselors fees are $125/hr.

How do I pay for my appointment?

When your appointment is complete, you’ll automatically be charged for your session with the credit card on file within 1-3 business days.

Does Biblical Counseling qualify for insurance?

At present, we do not have a direct partnership with any insurance companies. Therefore, our clients are expected to make full payment for our services at the time of their appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

In order to provide the best possible service to our clients, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. If you are unable to give at least 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the missed appointment. We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we will do our best to work with you in such situations. However, repeated missed appointments may result in termination of services. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Do you provide a diagnosis?

We do not provide diagnosis. While we are clinically informed counselors, we o not hold the credentials to provide a diagnosis. We are happy to give you referrals for this service.

What can I expect in my appointments?

Counseling appointments are generally 55 mins long unless a longer appointment is requested. While each counselor is unique, you can expect them to give you the utmost attention and care, incorporating prayer and Scripture into each session. Because each case is different, your time with your counselor may vary.

The duration of counseling can vary significantly based on the specific issues being addressed. Additionally, the progress and length of counseling will be influenced by your active participation and commitment. By diligently completing assigned homework, devoting time to reflection and prayer, actively engaging with your local church community, and approaching counseling with a willingness to be open and vulnerable, you can greatly expedite the counseling process. Your proactive involvement plays a crucial role in achieving positive outcomes in a shorter span of time.
